Winter: The Best Time For A Skin Check

Back to BlogCategory: Advice

Did you know that winter is the best time to book in a skin check?

This facilitates the ideal conditions for skin healing if any procedures to remove suspicious lesions are recommended, due to limited direct sun exposure and a dry environment.

Winter also gives your physicians plenty of time to plan your treatment, before the joys of Summer – like swimming, beach time, and exposed skin – put you at a higher risk of poorer healing from these procedures.

We also recommend preventative treatments for pre-cancerous skin lesions during Winter, as these can cause irritated, angry skin reactions that are much easier to care for (and hide!) during the cooler months.

The Skin GP Sydney at Rose Healthcare offers the following services as part of skin healthcare:

  • Skin cancer checks
  • Early or pre-skin cancer field treatment
  • Skin biopsy
  • Skin cancer removals
  • Suspicious looking mole removals
  • Acne treatment
  • Sun damage repair
  • Pigmentation treatment
  • Skin re-texturising
  • Anti-wrinkle advice
